Sadly offered for sale or lease - Bear is a solid dark bay 6 year old Thoroughbred mare standing just shy of 16.1hh. She was trained to race, but was too slow, so never made it to the track. She has a big, solid build, often getting mistaken for a warmblood. She has wonderful hunter movement with a trot that has won her ribbon after ribbon in the hack ring. W/t/c with automatic lead changes, and she has schooled fences up to 3'6. She has two seasons of Old Orchard Farm schooling shows under her belt in the hack ring, placing 4th overall in the 2010 season, and was year end grand champion in the 2011 season. She has not competed yet this year due to financial reasons, but with a quick brush-up, shell be ready to be competitive at schooling, Trillium, or A circuit shows.

Bear is ready for the finishing touches for whatever discipline you choose. She is extremely versatile, and would excel in hack, hunter, jumper, dressage, or equitation rings. However, she would be equally as happy being a pleasure horse that someone can have fun with. She is a very uncomplicated ride and loves her job. Bear does best with a quiet but confident rider. Due to her age, she is not suitable for a child or a beginner.

Bear has a great personality with wonderful ground manners. She is very gentle, with a curious, fun, "puppy-dog" personality. Easy to work with, around, and handle. No vices, loads, trailers, bathes, clips, lunges, stands for the vet/farrier, and is great with dogs/cats. Hacks out alone or in a group.
