Amazing former upper level (CCI**) horse ready to bring along a new rider. Newby is a very experienced event horse, having competed to the two star level; he was also very successful, having won a CCI*and many top 3 horse trials finishes. He is a light and responsive ride, who loves to be ridden in a happy mouth snaffle. Newby has more go than whoa, so he is not for a beginner, but he doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is a very reliable ride, even when his owner doesn't get out to ride him very often. My husband has even ridden him western! Newby is schooled, schooled, schooled and rides forwards, backwards and sideways (his lateral work is excellent!). He is bold, careful and kind. You won't find a better horse, and friend. He is sadly offered for sale due to owner's time constraints and the fact that he is not happy with this sedentary lifestyle; he loves to be in work. Newby is absolute sweetheart to be around, he is a very easy keeper, but he is not vice free as he cribs when not wearing a collar. Newby is sound and has clean legs. He would be happiest with a dedicated rider who needs to learn the ropes up to the prelim level.
