Bean is a very flashy and sweet. passported 10yr old DWB cross. She stands a solid 16.3h with lots of bone while still being athletic. She is trained up to 2nd/3rd level dressage minus the lead changes although we were steadily working towards it before I moved. She has been out of work for approximately three months, the only thing this effects is her fitness level. She is not a bucker or anything nasty, no spook, very safe, no need to lunge (even with the time off). Although she is extremely sweet she does pick her riders. It is important to her that you are a soft, quiet rider, but that you are in control.
Bean knows leg yield, shoulder in, counter shoulder in, half pass, renvers, travers (however the last three she will need to be brought into shape again for her to achieve them). She is VERY classically trained. OLD SCHOOL French classical. Very very light! Rider weight shifts and very good rider balance are all that is needed. When out of shape (like she is) she can be quite strong in the canter, it’s a balance issue, she gets heavy on the forehand. When in regular work however she gets very light and has a lovely canter.
She does jump but is very green. She loves it though. She’s never refused a fence but can get quite strong on the approach. Nothing over 2’9 as she has an old injury bowed tendon that causes her no issues at all, but I’d like to keep it that way.
She is fabulous off property, she LOVES adventures. She has shown walk/trot Gold level back in 2011 and was champion. She is passported but I will have to get a current license for it (for next year seen as this year is basically over). I’m all for her showing and doing stuff off property. She loves to hit the trails, she does not react when other horses are being jerks as long as you keep your cool as well. She’ll go through water, over things, under things, basically anywhere you point her. She is happy to go alone or with a friend.
I am looking for someone to either part board her at her current facility in Troy Ontario. I will provide a bridle, bit, reins, brushes but you will need to provide a wide tree saddle as I have my saddles with me out of province. Part board can be discussed, but ballpark $200 for around 3 rides a week. I would like it if you had an approved coach give you a lesson at your expense for one of those rides. There is an on-site coach if you do not have one. I’m ok with her doing dressage, low level eventing or hunting.
Lease situation would be paid lease only, ideally in barn as it would be nice to keep her with my old mare but it’s not a necessity. Lease would be around $2500 for the year. In the event that you own your own property and could take my old mare as well I would do a free lease on Bean. ANY lease situation will have to be 100% approved by someone appointed by me as I am not in the province. Visits MUST be allowed at any time. Any coach will also have to be approved and should you change coaches that coach will also have to be approved. Contracts will have to be signed as well.
