This mare is broke w/t/c under saddle, is light in your hand, will go on a loose rein or working on the bit. She was purchased for an adult beginner rider, but while she has a quiet temperament she prefers at least an intermediate rider who can give her consistent cues and direction. That being said, in a supervised setting she has been used for novice lessons both on the flat and over fences. She isn't a baby sitter, doesn't enjoy a nervous or loose rider, but is a quiet simple ride for a rider who knows the basics and can ride with all their body parts working independently. She has been out fox hunting in both 1st and 2nd field with an experienced rider, has extensive trail miles, and when she was in shape was jumping 3'3-3'6 courses with flying changes and was ready to move up. She can be handled by anybody on the ground, and is regularly used in bridal & engagement shoots, being handled by people with no horse experience. She has been out of consistent work for well over a year due to time constraints and not being suitable for her current owner, will need to be brought back into shape over the winter and will then be ready to hunt or show in the spring! She stands to tie/trailer/farrier/vet etc. Is barefoot, lives outside, no blankets required, and is an extremely easy keeper. Has a bit more go than whoa, meaning you'll need to balance coming out of a corner or down the lines, but does not rush fences and is not the type to get faster with each lap around the ring. Suited for a confident intermediate looking to compete in the hunters or jumpers with some help from a coach.
