Looking for a full-time trainer/rider to work with young dressage and jumper horses at a hanoverian breeding and training barn. Preference will be given to a rider competent in both disciplines and a strong background in training young horses for future competition in the dressage arena and the show jumping circuit. Horses range in age from 3 to mature; therefore, candidate must have extensive experience with all aspects of bringing along young horses. This includes handling/grooming/backing/starting and maintaining training programs for young horses. Candidate must feel comfortable starting young horses over fences. Job is physically demanding and applicant should be in excellent physical condition without any physical limitation to perform the job. Duties to include primarily riding/training/lunging as well as other aspects of horse care. Applicant must feel confident enough to take young horses to their first off-property experience. Applicant must be dependable and punctual. Because some of the stock is young and inexperienced, the applicant must exhibit a calm and confident personality. Prior experience backing/starting and training young warmbloods is highly recommended. Starting salary is $18.00/hr for a 36.5 hour week (8am-4pm, with 30min lunch).
