6 year old unraced Thoroughbred mare, by Kissin’ Kris out of This B Jade, 16-16.1hh, bay.

Hurricane Kisses (Bee) is by Breeders Cup Classic 3rd placed stallion Kissin' Kris. She is out of the mare "This B Jade" who has produced a stakes winning half brother and a multiple stakes placed half sister. Bee’s great grand dam is "Open Fire", crowned US champion older mare in 1966. This pedigree boasts quality as well as longevity and toughness as demonstrated in her half brother's ability to start in an incredible 163 races! Bee has all the qualities that are represented in her pedigree. She is very athletic, physically sound and has the mental toughness and boldness of an alpha mare. She has elegant movement, a smooth, efficient stride, and an eagerness and natural ability to jump, as well as a willingness to compete, leading her to excel as an event horse.

She was started at two and spent six weeks at the track (but is un-raced) at which point we bought her. Being from a late maturing family, she was then pastured till age 5 to mature. She goes well at all three gaits and we have started with lateral work. She has free-jumped to 4'6" and is schooling over smaller jumps but is eager to do more.

Bee is a very honest horse, but is high energy and is a forward mare, thus requires an experienced rider who is confident in schooling young horses. She is a fun horse to work with. She is quiet and well-mannered on the trails. Loads, hauls, bathes, stands for farrier etc. We have kept her barefoot with regular hoof-care (I am a barefoot farrier) and she has good strong feet. She has just had her teeth floated.

Regretful sale as we are moving to New Zealand. We had hoped to take Bee with us but the price to get her to NZ would be $25000 so sadly must sell her.
