Luc Childeric DAC 2. Top of the line French brand dressage saddle designed for your horse’s total freedom of movement. Made on a laminated beech wood tree with spring steel stirrup bars and gullet plate. Crafted by Luc Childéric (since 1991) “. . .I always wanted to understand how to improve the balance, contact and comfort of both rider and horse. Each saddle has to have everything in harmony – seat, shape, stirrup bar placement, blocks, panels, to have the best result. It has to be the best. . . “
Tree: Medium-Wide. Seems to fit a wide range of horses that are more warmblood shaped, i.e. bigger shoulders.
Seat: 18" Monoflap, Semi deep seat that sits true to size. Cushy soft and super comfy, yet secure and close contact with a narrow twist – Perfect for folks with lower back trouble!
Color: Black.
Year of Manufacture: Late 2008 I think?
Panels: French style foam flocked. Panels have good padding around the wither area and throughout the saddle Nicely roomy gullet channel throughout all weight bearing areas.
Condition: Very good to excellent. Billets are in great shape. The saddle shows gentle signs of wear. Meticulously well-kept and clean. Gorgeous saddle, offering extremely close contact and a nice, soft knee roll your leg just sinks into. Awesome!
These saddles are not normally found for resale. They're known as the ones that are open enough for an unforced, naturally centered seat but have just the right amount of stuff to help withstand frisky antics and facilitate big movement. In other words: A truly balanced, secure ride.
SORRY, NO TRIALS. Stirrup leathers and grab strap not included :-)
Cost New: Approx $4999 USD / $6450 CAD. This gently used, well cared for saddle is priced very competitively, even for a used model!
