Currently looking for a part-time working student to join our team at a hunter/jumper facility focusing mainly on young Warmblood horses for the A circuit. Can be flexible hours; would prefer a couple hours in the morning 3-5 days a week or a couple of weekday mornings and weekends. Could be a possibility for students looking for co-op hours.
Willing to teach, but should have strong basic horse handling knowledge and ability to handle high performance young horses is a plus. Must have own reliable transportation. Duties do NOT include mucking; but will be required to tack up/cool down, bathe, clip, lunge, etc. Looking for a mature individual as this could lead to a full-time paid summer position as a show groom. I need to be able to trust you alone with the horses and interact with top clients and be courteous and respectful.
This is not a full paid position; this is an opportunity to learn about training and preparing horses for the top level of show jumping and I will take you on as a mentor and give you as many opportunities as possible. There will be an opportunity to ride and take lessons for qualified applicants as well as a bi-weekly stipend. Please apply with a brief outline of your horse education, any relevant pictures or show experience and why you would like to apply for this position. Thank you. |
