Son of Valor (aka Gideon) is a wonderful gelding, 5 years of age! We bred him at our farm, his father being an Arabian, and his mother half thoroughbred crossed with a standard-bred Percheron. He stands 16 hands tall, and is big and beautiful. Gideon has been under saddle for two years now, and has been exposed to almost everything imaginable on trail (water, logs, forest, road, dogs, buildings, EVERYTHING). We do endurance racing, and bred him for that purpose, but as he has grown he has turned out to be too big and bulky for our sport which is our reason for selling him. We took him to two 25 mile distance events this summer, both which he completed very well. Endurance has multiple vet checks (before the ride, during the ride, and after the ride), and Gideon passed all of them with flying colours! Having been trained for endurance he has done countless miles of trails and training, which has allowed for him to become a very solid minded horse. He can lead, lag, pass, be passed, and is totally happy wherever you put him. He is about average in the pecking order of the heard, and has been raised out doors in large pasture his whole life. He has never had a lame step in his life, and has never had any health issues. Gideon trailers, crossties, baths, stands good for farrier, is up to date on all shots and worming, and has a valid coggins. We are sad to be selling him, but as we are dedicated to the sport of endurance, and are recognizing early on that his body make up is not going to fit our sport, we want him to have the best chance possible with a good owner to enjoy life to the fullest. We believe Gideon could be an excellent candidate for jumping, hunting or trail horse. He desires to please, and will try quite hard at anything you ask him for. He is very affectionate, and has no vices (bolt, rear, bite, etc). If you are interested please feel free to Contact Laura Rye at touchosteele1@gmail.com or phone at 1-705-791-0547. |
