Symphanie B is a 2005 (13 year old) 16.3 hh bay Hanoverian /Thoroughbred mare. She is a safe, quiet, hard-working partner that would be ideal for a junior or adult amateur dressage rider.
Sym has had extensive schooling experience at second level and previously competed third level on the Glanbrook Cadora circuit in 2014.
From 2014-2016 she enjoyed a two year light-riding period due to owner work commitments. However, under the ridership of the current leaser, she has eagerly resumed work in a full-time training program with future competitions scheduled throughout the 2018 season (First Level).
She is light to the aids, naturally forward and has a consistent rhythm in all gaits. She excels in lateral movements including: leg yields, shoulder-in, haunches-in and half-pass. Symphanie would be best suited for a rider that has a balanced seat/leg position and soft hands to complement the classical training history. That being said, she does possess a forgiving temperament that would make her an excellent teacher. She is well-mannered in the saddle as well as impeccably polite on the ground in all aspects: grooming, tacking, cooperative with vet/farrier, loading on trailers, leading etc. She is also fabulous performing off-property in a competition environment - calm, willing and focused.
This mare also enjoys hacking, and will happily assume the lead of group excursions with a confident attitude. No buck, bolt, or rear issues.
She is currently turned out with another mare but is fine living in gelding/mare herds as well. She is an easy-keeper but does require regular turn out and four shoes to maintain feet strength.
Additional full disclosure: in 2016 we investigated some apparent back sensitivities with our veterinarian which concluded some mild degeneration signs near the wither base via radiographs. We have completed treatment consisting of: one dorsal spinous back injection in conjunction with anti-inflammatories and two chiropractic adjustments to address the issue. Since the treatment course, we have not had any further issues, however this should be considered from a maintenance aspect to address if symptoms return.
Symphanie is sound, in good fitness physique and fully up to date with vaccines/teeth floating as of April 2018. She’s been an eager and committed partner over the years - we have decided to sell because owner is employed abroad for the foreseeable future.
We are happy to answer additional questions and arrange viewing appointments for serious prospective buyers. Please note, queries will be responded within 24 hours.
